4 festive woodcraft ideas

It’s getting to that magical time of year once again, and many of us are getting our creative hats on when it comes to Christmas decorations.

Wooden decorations are all the rage this season, so with that in mind, we thought we’d put together a collection of 4 fantastic Christmas woodcrafts. What could possibly be better than a good ol’ rustic Christmas?

Wood slice tree decorations

We’ve been seeing these in stores everywhere for a pretty penny. They’re simple wooden or card shapes on top of a wood slice that you can make from any solid log - easy to make and very pretty!

Twiggy snowflake

Another really simple one, you can make this yourself from pieces of wood or simply find some twigs of a similar size and shape. These look great alongside other hanging wooden decorations such as the wood slices above.

Woodblock mantle and stocking ornament

Two simple wooden blocks and a miniature fireplace create a great showpiece, whilst the custom family nameplate and named stockings give it a personal touch. This is a slightly more advanced project but nonetheless shouldn’t be too difficult to make at home.

Woodcraft Santa

A great project to do with the kids, it doesn’t matter if this project gets a bit messy or uneven during the wood carving as it all adds to the charm of this quirky little decoration.
