Our Sugatsune Surface Mount Torque Hinges are in a Stainless Steel finish, open up to 180 degrees with a friction torque of 15.3 (+40%/-20%). This hinge holds a lid/door in its desired position and is free stop between 0-180 degrees. It's also made from stainless steel which reduces corrosion and can withstand harsh environments.

What is a Torque Hinge?
A torque hinge (also referred to as a friction hinge) is a type of hinge that resists the rotating motion. In doing so, the resistance slows the movement of safety, meaning it the movement is reduced so that the pivoting object is held motionless in the chosen position.
Torque hinges have different abilities in terms of opening different applications/ doors. Some torque hinges allow the opening of heavy doors with a small force, whereas some are able to forcibly close a door/ keep it open at a specific position.
Tips and reminders
Before you install your torque hinges, ensure you are known the weight of your door and its length from the point of pivot.
A minimum of 2 hinges are required for a single door
